Beyond my own words...

Layer by Layer I remove all I thought
I was
all I thought I had to be
and
in the moment
I was left standing
naked
and vulnerable
without identities and labels
I remembered
I AM
THAT
I AM

You Matter...

"Humankind has not woven the web of life.
We are but one thread within it.
Whatever we do to the web,
we do to ourselves.
All things are bound together.
All things connect."
~Chief Seattle

Sept. 9, 2008
Sylvie- you and I will stand side by side revolutionizing a sacred feminine movement.
I twill start with event with the women we know
and it will grow form there...
It is thru both of our journey;s that we will
bring together worlds.
Our view are diverse
thus
representing the diversity in creation, human life, mother nature.

(me and Sylvie)

That journal excerpt was a premonition that I received from my spirit guide Arlene
while journalling one morning a coffee house
I wrote down as it came to me
and the next day called her to tell her.

we were surprised
and yet not

 and even
a little scared
lol
(just had to share these funny shots)

But we were open and waited
till we both felt the time was right.

At the end of summer I once again felt the push
to discuss it with her.
Even as I walked up the hill to the coffee house we had arranged to meet
I heard the voice of doubt
"Why bother"
"Don't bring it up...it will be too hard."
Do you thing you could really do it???"

But my journey has taught me to face my fears
and I wanted to move through this one
I trusted what was given to me those years ago
and trusted the press I felt on my heart
to revisit that place
so we met
and I place it out again before her
my desire to unite with her
and facilitate woman's workshops
She was open
and after some time we made plans
for our first collaboration.

And that collaboration birthed our Workshop
*
Thirteen woman gathered in a beautiful setting
we opened heart
shifted thought
realized just how connected we are
reconnected with ourselves
opened up to connections with others
envisioned ourselves as threads
in the beautiful tapestry of life
seeing how each thread is as important as the other

there was the realization
that we all come from the same Source
and in each other
we see ourselves.

"It really boils down to this:
that all life is interrelated.
We are all caught in an
inescapable network of mutuality,
tied into a  single garment of destiny.
Whatever affects one destiny,
affects all indirectly. "
~ Martin Luther King Jr.

The journey of connection begins with self.
how we connect with ourselves
reflects in how we connect with others
and the world around us.

"Your body has many parts—limbs, organs, cells—but no matter how many parts you can name, you're still one body. It's exactly the same with God. By means of  God's Spirit, we all say good-bye to our partial and piecemeal lives. We each used to independently call our own shots, but then we entered into a large and integrated life in which he has the final say in everything. Each of us is now a part of Love's body, refreshed and sustained at one fountain where we all come to drink. The old labels we once used to identify ourselves are no longer useful. We need something larger, more comprehensive.
I want you to think about how all this makes you more significant, not less. A body isn't just a single part blown up into something huge. It's all the different-but-similar parts arranged and functioning together. If Foot said, "I'm not elegant like Hand, embellished with rings; I guess I don't belong to this body," would that make it so? If Ear said, "I'm not beautiful like Eye, limpid and expressive; I don't deserve a place on the head," would you want to remove it from the body? If the body was all eye, how could it hear? If all ear, how could it smell? As it is, we see that Love has carefully placed each part of the body right where it is needed.
But I also want you to think about how this keeps your significance from getting blown up into self-importance. For no matter how significant you are, it is only because of what you are a part of. An enormous eye or a gigantic hand wouldn't be a body, but a monster. What we have is one body with many parts, each its proper size and in its proper place. No part is important on its own. Can you imagine Eye telling Hand, "Get lost; I don't need you"? Or, Head telling Foot, "You're fired; your job has been phased out"? As a matter of fact, in practice it works the other way—the "lower" the part, the more basic, and therefore necessary. You can live without an eye, for instance, but not without a stomach. When it's a part of your own body you are concerned with, it makes no difference whether the part is visible or clothed, higher or lower. You give it dignity and honor just as it is, without comparisons. If anything, you have more concern for the lower parts than the higher. If you had to choose, wouldn't you prefer good digestion to full-bodied hair?
The way our bodies are designed is a model for understanding our lives together as a community: every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we don't, the parts we see and the parts we don't. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance."
~ The Bible

" It is man's social nature
which distinguishes him from the brute creation.
If it is his privilege
to be independent
it is equally his duty to be
inter-dependent.
Only an arrogant man will claim
to be independent of everyone else
and be self-contained"
~ Mahatma Gadhi

For our first go
it was a great day
nervous butterflies and all.
What a privilege to spend the day
with such courageous group of women
Women willing to go out on a limb
for growth and expansion.
a privilege
a gift

no more struggle....

Struggle has been a familiar thing
it has been something that defined me
 something I took on
as part of my reality

But I have changed my mind

When I think of struggle
I feel the hardship
the burden
I see my self walking
bent over
I see my self carrying
the pain
the suffering
and the burden is almost too much to bear

But
when that perspective is shifted
and I see it as a challenge
everything changes

challenges are meant to be faced
challenges are welcomed for growth
welcomed for learning
welcomed for experience

I can see myself standing tall
staff in hand
ready to face the challenges
of my life

so
in changing my mind
 I have decided
that the struggle is no more
no longer will I carry
unnecessary burdens
instead
I stand tall
walk strong
ready to face
the challenges of my Life...

what have you changed your mind about, my lovelies?

What I really really want....

I have been prompted to ponder this question
by Rain here
then again by Monica here

my answer?
...

To be heard...

My husband gave me great perspective in this
when I spoke to him about it
he said,
"Even Martin Luther King wasn't heard all the time Cat.
Whether you are being heard or not
you should speak your Truth"

in walks:
"perspective shift"

he is very wise at times
i really really like him

Rain writes a beautiful follow up to this prompt
found here

What is it that you really really want?

Winters Sweet Rewards

out of Winter's Silence
comes sweetness

a transformation
only possible
when life lys dormant

when stillness
is all you hear
and silence
drowns out noise

"I will give you a new Heart
and put a new Spirit in you."

Mama whispered...

"I will remove from you,
your heart of stone....

...and I will give you a heart of flesh."

One that feels
One that hurts
One that lives

And they will call it beautiful
It will be sweet...
but not sickly sweet
no
it will be the kind of sweet
that lingers
in the recess of memories
The kind of sweet that makes you long for more
The kind of sweet that leaves you feeling
satisfied and pleased
Everyone who tastes this sweetness
will leave with a smile on their lips
a glimmer in their eye
and Hope in their own heart
and they will know
truly
All is possible...

Love and Light

(ps no I did not make that cake...it was a silent auction item we purchased at a fundraiser....
it was a beautiful to eat as it was to look at)

And so I walk...

And so I walk
The Happy Fool
With my trusted companion
And my back pack for tools
I will gather along the way.

I'm not sure of where I am going
And I am not sure of how I will get there
But I have Faith, and She reminds me...
that my Guide will show me the way.

Many Creatures do I meet
Each with something to give
I marvel at their beautify
Their Trust
Their Knowing
Their Faith
in that which is not seen with the naked eye
That which is only seen with the naked heart.

They Challenge me to move forward
To walk in Lands I do not know
To transform that which was once Familiar
To form new life inside my self
over and over and over again
To be re-born with out fear or resistance
To learn to be still
When stillness is required
To know when to push on through heavy resistance
to be Awake and pay Attention to detail
And then, in turn, be wise
to not chew too long on details given.

As I walk I feel those things that cling to me
Fear
Distrust
Certainty

They hold on to my inner most part
They believe they hold on for Life
But, I have come to know Different
And as I enter the Solitude of Stillness
I feel their loosened grip
Eagle and Hawk come to me
giving me eyes to see.

Winds now take what clings and transformation begins
Fear to Faith
Distrust to Trust
Certainty to Uncertainty

They do not go willingly
They don't want to be transformed
They cling to my rib cage
Not able to see, that what they cling to
is empty
It can not, them, sustain
It is just a body, a shell
That will eventually die and turn back to dust.

It is the Soul they need to come beside
It is Source to which they should cling

I must be still, be silent
So,
I quiet my mind
I enter Silence and Know
And here it is,
Mother Mary comes to me
speaking Her words of Wisdom
