Keeping it Real...

Keeping it Real with the lovely

Every Friday
Monica invites her readers to
"Share your own ups-downs, lows-highs, hits-misses, dark-light,
peaks-valleys, plus-minuses,
as we keep the blogosphere real."

The Ebb:

this week the ebb was found
in the silence of practice
in the sleep of lost years
in the conflict with self

*

(remember her?)
(4 baby robins hatched this week)

The Flow:

flow was found in gathering with sisters
the reading of wise women's words
new life in the back yard
am early morning bear cub visit
plans for summer
writing time in a coffee house
movement
words

*

"If you do not bring forth what is within you,
that which is with in you,
will destroy you"
~Jesus
(thank G)

*

we are-
"Women wishing to walk their walks a bit taller on the earth.
without apology"
~Pixie Campbell

*

"The tree that would grow to heaven must send its roots to hell"
~Nietzsche
(thanks R)

*

"The unfolding of the human hearts is artful and mysterious.
We might wish the path to enlightenment were
orderly and predictable, but the ways of the heart
are a landscape discoverable
only in the journey.
We cannot capture freedom and place it in time.
For the mature spirit, freedom is the journey itself.
It is like a labyrinth, a circle, a flowers petal-by-petal opening,
or a deepening spiral,
a dance around the still point,
the centre of all things.
There are always changing cycles
up and downs,
openings and closings
awakenings to love and freedom
often followed by new and subtle entanglements.
In the course of this great spiral
we return to where we started again and again
but each time with a fuller
more open heart"

~Jack Kornfield

  1. I Love Nietzche. How very true but something most are not willing to go there. That last quote greatly spoke to me. Poetic. Love the birds. I am glad your ebb and flow is striking a wonderful balance for you. I love that figurine of women around a fire. Gorgeous. That is what I need right noe. Picturing it in my head:)

  3. I see I wasn't alone in my quiet, coffee shop time this week. It's wonderful to have time to sit and write. Nothing feeds the soul quite like gathering with sisters, however. It sounds like your days have been full.

I love that Nietzsche quote - thank you for passing it along.

  6. Indeed, I "return to where we started again and again". I know this, but must drink more deeply from this cup, not turning away but receiving.
I love the words you used to capture your ebb:flow - so poetic with sorrow and thankfulness.
