Mondays Offering...why I do the work that I do

“An anthropologist proposed a game to children in an African tribe. He put a basket full of fruit near a tree and told the children that whoever got there first won the sweet fruits. When he told them to run, they all took each others hands and ran together, then sat together enjoying their treats. When he asked them why they had run like that when one could have had all the fruits for himself, they said, ‘UBUNTU, how can one of us be happy if all the other ones are sad?’ (‘UBUNTU’ in the Xhosa culture means: ‘I am because we are.)” (Credit: +Sara Del Valle)

This story is why I do the work I do

Those faces are why I do the work that I do

Those homes are why I do the work that I do

*

I do it all because I live with the belief

that we are all connected

that we call come from one Source

Created by one Spirit

Each of us equal

Each of us mattering

Each of us knowing

*

In one week I leave

to go back to my other home

I am ready to be used as an instrument of Love

and I take you with me

Your gifts of money and love

will be carried down and felt and appreciated...

*

As I continue my preparations to leave

I hope to find time to come by and see you

but if I do not

know that I could not be doing this

without you, your love, your support

Thank you my lovelies of love and light
your love is a precious gift
I leave you toda
with an offering of prayer

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Great Spirit, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
So it is
All my relations
Amen
 Love and Light

  1. One week! Wow!!! My prayers and thoughts are with you! My father goes every year down to Nicaragua his heart home...and my sister lives there on and off...As you know I could not feel at home there and only went once but the beauty, dignity, and poverty still hovers over my soul...12 years ago I went and I STILL feel grateful and do not take for granted toilet paper and running water...I conserve what I can knowing it is such a small yet magnificent gift to have what I have...And YET the Nicaraguan people taught us all more about community and having more than we ever taught them. It was full of dignity...
    Anyway, tangent...enjoy the fruits of giving and being!

  9. Hello Cat ! Hope you are doing fine. I missed your blog and some other blogs too{ after I stopped blogging}. I have been away from the net for too long.
    Thank you for reminding us the prayer of St.Francis. It is one of my favourite prayers too. In the past, it gave me strength and direction when I was facing some tough times in my life. I am happy for you, for doing the work that you are doing. All the best to you. Your voice gives me strength. Take care,
    Sanghamitra
