Monday Offering...My Man-Child

I don't post much about my family
this blog was not for that
but sometimes
sometimes
there are events that need to be honoured
that need to be acknowledged

This Monday's Offering is about/for my oldest son
my first born
my teacher
my challenger
my twin heart
my love

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah they were all yellow,

I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow

So then I took my turn
Oh what a thing to have done
And it was all yellow

Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
You know you know I love you so
You know I love you so

I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh what a thing to do
Cause you were all yellow

I drew a line
I drew a line for you
Oh what a thing to do
And it was all yellow

Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
You know for you I'd bleed myself dry
For you I'd bleed myself dry

It's true look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for...
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine

Look at the stars look how they shine for you
And all the things that you do

This has been my song for him for years
(K I was so pleased this track was on the CD you made me)
my beautiful boy....

a week ago today
we were having a going away party for you
You....

the Biebs...

and your functional-dis-functional family
saying our good-byes
in the goofy way we do...

I am so proud of you

venturing off
on your own
to the other side of the world
I know it was not the easiest thing to do
on your own
but you did it...

may Australia treat you well
may the road to your soul open up
may you meet those who draw you closer
to your heart
may you fill your journal with songs
may you find out what you are truly made of
may you drink this all in
and take it for all it is worth
may you find your joy
may you find your truth
may you find your Spirit

I miss you
like the desert misses the rain
but I am oh so very very happy for you
and my love remains forever
I will see you soon
but not too soon
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah they were all yellow...

Love and Light

Who does your heart miss,
like the desert misses the rain,
my lovelies?

  4. Beautiful tribute to your beautiful son from a soulful mother ! I am sure, our mother must be feeling the same when she bid us goodbye- long long back-when me and my brother went out of our home to pursue higher education !
Your words are so beautiful " I miss you
like the desert misses the rain".
Cat, just like the desert misses the rain, I miss my mother who lives in another town, many miles away from me.

mine is only 4.5 but whether it's the first day of school or the first road-trip/world-trip, they're always our babies.

  6. LOVE Coldplay
LOVE that your boy is so close to me
You tell him if he comes to NZ (it's only across the ditch) there is a meal here at mine for him!

I miss my Grandfather so much - the photo of me outside Catalina's Cafe on my last post . . . . he flew Catalinas in WWII - he was trained by the Royal Canadian Airforce xxx I miss him every single day in every single way

  7. He's off to Australia!! Wow, is he going backpacking for a long time? It's been called the Great Southland of the Spirit and it's a place people seem to find God - how exciting! Let us know if he needs anything!

  8. Been thinking about how, like the snake, we shed layers of skin...shedding some of my mother skin has been painful lately, but change is good and all is what it should be. Great pics of Nate, heard through the grapevine that he already is having a good time. I'm so excited for him!

  10. I am so glad you love that song! I wasn't sure when I put it on. Does the rest of the cd work too? I am excited for you and your family that your plans came into full fruition! He looks so independent yet vulnerable- what a sweet kid you brought up. He is lucky to have you and I know you are also lucky to have him;) I am honored to see the pictures of your journey... The celebration
    The unique being
    The wonder of change
    The solid bond of family
    The call of freedom
The yellow stars of unconditional forever love
    Sigh
    Beautiful Cat
Thank you for sharing your inner family life
    Love

  11. Ah, such beautiful words ... so it doesn't get any easier watching them walk away? My heart still skips a beat when I see my girl skipping up the walkway to her school ... I cannot imagine the sensation of watching my child leaving for another continent! But how thrilling for you all.

Much love as we work with our shadows ... it will be an interesting lodge!

  13. You are a wonderful mother!!! and functional/disfunctional family are the reason your man-child is going to b just fine travelling, learning and exploring my magical country. It takes a gr8 leader to produce such grounded and well rounded people and Nathen is a result of just that. I will watch over him like my own and can't wait to c him once again after all this time!!!! I'm going to try my hardest to work on his aussie accent so he comes home sounding just like me....Fondest love, gorgeous girl.xxxxx
