Monday Offering...Forgiveness

Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face
Do You Realize - we're floating in space -
Do You Realize - that happiness makes you cry
Do You Realize - that everyone you know someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do You Realize - Oh - Oh - Oh
Do You Realize - that everyone you know
Someday will die -

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face
Do You Realize

for those of you who have been with me for a while
you will remember
this post
from last year
my story of forgiveness
12 years after my dads death
I found in me
the willingness to forgive him

this past Friday it had been 13 years
since his death
1 year since forgiveness began
transforming my heart
and I felt so different this year
when the anniversary of his death came
This year I grieved him for the first time
I told a friend it was like he had died last year...
it was really quite beautiful

also since the transforming of my heart
I have had several encounters with him
I have found him to be a supportive force behind me
when I go to the place of doubt
I could have never believed this possible
with out experiencing it...

Forgiveness is such a powerful thing
and it doesn't just end with those words
"I forgive you"
Those words are just the seeds
that start a whole new life to grow with in
I am not going to tell you it is easy to find yourself
ready
remember it took me 12 years after his death
BUT
I will tell you that the rumours are true
Forgiveness sets you free

Taking it further
when I think of my dad
I try to think of him as the Spirit he is now
it is still tender for me to think of him in the past
in fact I remember the first time he came to me
after I had began my transformation
and we were both so scared, so unsure
he could not reveal himself to me clearly
I could only recognize him by the hand
that reached out to me
and I was hesitant to take it
but I was not alone
Jesus stood behind me and whispered in my ear
"he is not the same man"
encouraging me to take his hand....
So in honesty
there still remains the residual effects
But
I am learning to see him anew
healed of his own pains and sorrows
healed of his past and mistakes
and it is good
to be free
for both of us
(I did take hold of his hand
and I will never forget that moment,
the things he revealed
and the immense Love
that was present)

If there is someone in your world you are needing to forgive
don't let another day go by
start here and now with you
with your heart
say these five words
"I am willing to forgive"
hold on to them
not the offences of the past
those offences do not define who you are
those offences are not a part of you
they happened to you
and now perhaps
they have moulded you
but sisters
you can always change your mind
about the mould you find yourself in
you are allowed to find a
better fitting mould
you are allowed to feel comfort in your own skin
you are allowed to receive love and give love freely
you are allowed to be everything you were meant
to be....

maybe the one you need to forgive is you...

whom ever it is
however many people it is
don't let another sun go down
without you saying these words
"I am willing to forgive"
start with this mantra
everyday
your freedom is depending on it...

  1. I always try to understand and find the reasons as to why somebody who did me wrong, why did he "do the wrong "? By "understanding" the motives behind such acts, I am able to forgive the person. Usually, the reason is that people are prisoners of their own tattered /difficult past- that's why they do wrong to others. They are themselves caged or stuck in a difficult situation- that's why they would take others down with them...from such an understanding, I can forgive others.
Forgiveness allows us to move on and start life afresh while keeping our innocence intact.

I am glad to hear that you have moved on and became free by forgiving someone which may have been very difficult for you. But at the end,you conquered yourself !
    Wishing a you a lovely day !

I'm still working on forgiving my mother but I'm trying
This past week I've worked on finding out more about her, about her upbringing trying trying trying to understand what could have made her be the way she is

  6. Oh my goodness.... I am just a wet mess this morning.. more tears... oooh boy!

Beautiful, Cat... I just have to tell you thankyou for your vulnerability to share such a precious and sacred moment as you had last year...but also that you share the details is so freeing to so many.
I didn't use to believe we could talk to or connect with those that have passed on, but now, I believe anything is possible.
    chills as I read... woow.
    Just beautiful.
Forgiveness is such the seed, as you said, and the fruit of is glorious.
    I love you friend. xo

  7. Pass the Kleenex please. Wise words lady friend. We all need to try and be kind and forgive forgive forgive. And not to forget to forgive ourselves in our walk on the path of life. I'm glad you've made peace with your papa. That must have been a tough one to go through all these years, it nagging at you. Must not have been ready for the reconcile and the letting go until now. I see he is smiling now! What a spirit of beauty and insight you carry with you. Thanks for sharing it with us. xO
